What is Plantar Fasciitis? Causes, Symptoms, Treatments

The underside of the foot is called the plantar region. It is the biggest tendon in the human body. Plantar fasciitis is a common inflammation of tendon extending underneath the sole, also called as the plantar Fascia, that joins at the heel. An inflammation of thick band tissue that joins the heel to the bones.

What causes plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is normally caused by repetitive strain injury to the ligament of the sole. Such strain injury can be caused due to excessive running or walking and jumping injury from landing etc. Plantar fasciitis can also be caused by diseases, such as reactive arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis

It causes pain or tenderness to the heel or the entire part of the foot. When it is excessive and tightly that can lead to a formation of a heel spur (bony prominence). It develops where the inflamed plantar fascia is attached to the heel bone.

Plantar fasciitis can make your feet swollen and tender sometimes. This can make you difficult to walk. Can make feet feel stiff and sensitive during the morning time.
